We are a member-owned Golf Club in a peaceful rural setting on the western slopes of Bar Hill.  It provides panoramic views across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire, against the backdrop of the Welsh Hills.  Over the past half-century the course has expanded and matured to become a hidden gem.

The 18 challenging holes tend to favour the straight, rather than long hitters.  Course management and a reliable short game are the keys to a good score here – for all levels of golfer.

We are located only 20 minutes from M6 junctions 15 and 16, on the A525 Newcastle-under-Lyme to Whitchurch road.  The club is adjacent to the Wheatsheaf Inn, where accommodation is available for travelling golfers.

Society and Visitor Offers are available throughout the year: download a course plan here.

Onneley is a member of the Staffordshire County Golf Partnership which encourages people of all ages to take up golf.  As part of our commitment, we have a very active Junior section and offer attractive promotional deals for new adult members.  We are currently finalising our 2019 package designed to appeal to women taking up or returning to the game.

Our emphasis is on friendly and accessible golf for all.  Our resident professional, Eddie Tittensor, is recognised for his skills with those taking up the sport.  In addition to group lessons he is also available for individual coaching.

Onneley Golf  Club has for some years held the GolfMark, which reflects the ruling body’s judgement that the club is well-managed.
