Long Hop

18th Hole: 418 Yards; Par 4 SI 10 for Men; Par 5 SI 12 for Ladies

The hole’s name refers to the fact that the former Onneley cricket ground sits to the left of the hole below the clubhouse and car-park.

A distant view of the approach to the hole from around 200 yards.

In addition to the challenge offered by the bunkers, the green sits at an angle of about 45 degrees to the centre-line of the fairway.

At less than 420 yards off the white tees and downhill this should be easily reachable in two shots for many golfers.  Not according to the stats.  The prevailing wind is against, and few golfers will hit the tee shot far enough to find a flat lie.  The green is relatively narrow and offset from the centre line of the fairway, making the target even tighter.  Par is a good score here.
