Captain’s Day 2021

Many thanks to all those members who supported my Captain’s day on 25th July.  I hope everyone enjoyed their golf and the individual hole challenges.  The Hickory clubs proved more difficult to master than most players anticipated – including our President!

I’d like to thank the Greens staff for presenting the course in such excellent condition.  The scores reflected the difficult pin positions on some holes, although there were some notable exceptions, including the worthy prize-winners.  The best score was Duncan Gacek’s magnificent 47 points, after shooting 78 off a handicap of 16.  It’s a lot lower now…

A special thank you to Pat and her team for providing a delicious buffet before the presentation, and thank you to Anita and Karen for running the halfway house and providing a very welcome refreshment break during the game.

Thanks are due also to those members who sponsored holes and helped me organise the day.  And last but not least, thank you to all those who turned out to support me and the club
